Join Us at North Beach Citizens’ Spring Event on April 21st

The Barbary Coast Neighborhood Association is proud to be a sponsor of North Beach Citizens’ 20th Anniversary Celebration Virtual Spring Event, which will take place on April 21, 2021 at 6:00 PM. Join your neighbors to support NBC and celebrate its two decades of serving hope, generosity, and compassion to San Franciscans living in extreme poverty.

North Beach Citizens needs our support now more than ever. Over the last year, the organization has seen a 74 percent increase in the number of people seeking daily food and services. NBC relies primarily on community financial support to provide lasting and dignified solutions to improve the lives of the people it serves. The event will feature jazz by Paula West, guest appearances by local celebrities, a chance to bid on a seven-night stay in a Mexican villa, and fund-a-need to support essential daily services.

Take the Lombard Slow Streets Survey

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has launched a community perception survey for the Slow Street on Lombard Street. Over the next month, the SFMTA wants to hear from residents and community members about their thoughts on the Slow Street, what’s working, what’s not working, and to provide input on its future. Interested community members can access the survey via scanning the QR code below or accessing the link: SFMTA.com/SlowLombardSurvey. The survey will be live until early to mid-April 2021.

The SFMTA announced and implemented the Slow Streets program back in mid-April 2020. Streets designated as a Slow Street aim to limit and reduce through traffic and encourage slower vehicles speeds. This creates a street that is calmer and safer for shared usage in the middle of the road by people walking, biking, exercising, or driving.
