Neighborhood Halloween Party Was a Scream!

The Barbary Coast Neighborhood Association was proud to co-sponsor the annual Gateway neighborhood Halloween Party with the Golden Gateway Tenants Association.  Despite the dark rain clouds on the horizon as the event began, the party was a big success with over 25 children and many adults dressed in costume in attendance. Other neighbors joined in the fun, eating pizza and handing out candy to the children. Following the party, the children went trick-or-treating around the Gateway townhouses and in the Golden Gateway Commons buildings across Jackson Street. The children had a great time and received lots of candy!

Sunday Social: Election Day Preview With Special Guests (Oct. 23 at 4 PM)

There will be happy hour drinks and appetizers.  Assemblyman David Chiu will unravel
a few of the state propositions, and District 3 Supervisor Aaron Peskin will lead us through a few of the city’s propositions.

You won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn about the upcoming ballot measures. Join your neighbors for a few hours of fun, education, and conversation.

Aquatic Park Promenade Closing for Construction Project Starting October 18

The Aquatic Park Promenade will be closed starting on Tuesday, October 18 for an extensive construction project to remove the railroad tracks and repave the pathway and is expected to reopen in March 2017. The tracks, though an historic feature of the Aquatic Park National Landmark District, were identified as contributing to an unsafe environment for the 4.2 million visitors who enjoy the park and its urban beach.

The Promenade will be completely closed during the construction period. Other areas of the park will remain open, and the beach will be accessible from Jefferson Street. The Aquatic Park Beach and Cove will be accessible via Jefferson Street. The Museum and San Francisco Senior Center will also remain open. The bleachers will remain open but will be accessible only from the south.  Visitors are likely to experience crowded conditions and should use caution when transiting this designed landscape.
